Balmashie Holiday Cottages...

By St Andrews, Fife KY16 8PN Scotland.

BALMASHIE ~ A home from home

Situated among the best golfing country in the world, Balmashie is a small holiday complex comprising of nine cottages laid out in a courtyard setting. You can't get away from the fact that St Andrews is 'the home of golf' as you are surrounded by golf courses in all directions. Balmashie is almost enclosed by the new Torrance and Devlin courses, for which, if you are inclined, there are concessions for guests.

However, you don't need to be a golfing fanatic to enjoy this beautiful part of Scotland as there is plenty to do, and many lovely towns and villages to visit.

Balmashie lies two and a half miles south of the historic town of St Andrews, on the Crail road. It is less then twenty miles from Scotlands fourth largest city, the 'city of Discovery', Dundee.

A wonderful welcome greets you when you arrive at the cottage which is clean, comfortable and fully equiped with everything needed for modern living, including a dishwasher (a luxury we don't have at home!). From the moment you enter the cottage you feel relaxed and hurry to put the kettle on and sample the hand baked biscuits, left as a welcome on the coffee table. The sofas are so comfortable that once you have sat down with your coffee and look out through the patio doors to the view over the golf course out onto the North Sea.. well, its just breath taking.. you'll wish it was a bottomless cup of coffee!

Outside there is a patio, complete with garden table and chairs. Barbeques are available on request and are very popular amongst the guests. The former paddock area provides a large, safe recreation facility with a play area for younger children. Beside that is a nine hole putting green, two golf driving nets and a practise pitching green. Clubs and balls are provided and much fun can be had, even if you've never held a club before!

With the beautiful scenery, georgous wee fishing villages, historic towns and superb accommodation our holiday to Fife will be one to remember for a very long time. If you wish to see a brochure then please contact Andrew, he is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

Email Andrew for a brochure or check out the website here..
