Diamond Mick
by Pivitol out of Miss Poll Flinders
Diamond Mick was lent to the Borders MS Racing Club by breeder and trainer Andrew Hollis, which enabled Rhona to start the Borders MS Racing Club. Mick is a 5 year old Chestnut gelding and he first ran in september 2002. He had 15 races before becoming our first MS racehorse and amazingly first time out with the MS colours, on 5th December 2004, he had his first win!

Kelso trainer Rhona Elliot is bravely battling multiple sclerosis and the victory of the Rose Davidson-ridden Diamond Mick (9/1), in the colours of the 35-strong MS Borders Racing Club, received the loudest cheer of the afternoon."This means so much to so many people. I'm not usually emotional but this is a real fairy story and I'm very emotional," said an overjoyed Mrs Elliot.

UPDATE JUNE 2006: Diamond Mick is staying with the Borders MS Racing Club! There has been a slight change of 'details' as the ownership of Diamond Mick has changed hands but the good news is that he will be staying with us and will continue to run in the MS Societys colours. We are very grateful for this as Mick is our mascot and we extend our gratitude to Micks new owner.
We can only hope that the MS Racing Club continues with its aim to raise awareness of MS, raise some funds and give people affected by MS an interest.
